The Olivier House is close enough to be convenient to all the action, but far enough away for you to escape the mayhem of the city.

About the hotel:

built as the lavish townhouse of Madame Olivier, a wealthy widow, whose husband was a plantation tycoon. The sophisticated Greek Revival architecture, with its wonderful attention to details, sets this house apart. The scene of many Creole society soirees, banquets and gatherings, this mansion has provided warm and gracious hospitality for over a century and a half. Steeped in history, architectural details, and character, the Olivier House exudes a warm, casually elegant atmosphere.

Three lush courtyards, one with a swimming pool, are also beautiful, peaceful places to relax. We have 42 unique guest rooms and suites, each individually appointed. All suites include a kitchenette consisting of a refridgerator, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. Full spa services are availible through EarthSavers. We will do our best to accommodate any special requests that might make your stay here more enjoyable. Children are very welcome. We also have a few rooms that accept pets.

Please keep in mind that all of our rooms and suites are completely individual in terms of size, layout, shape, and décor. Each one has it's own unique charm and personality. Rooms are priced individually. Most are decorated in period antiques, some have balconies, or views of the courtyard. Many of our one bedroom suites are split level rooms with the bedroom upstairs and the living room and wet bar downstairs. The following catagories provide the general range of our rates. Also note that Special Event Rates may apply during certain times, and discounted rates are also available during select periods. Special rates are available through the summer and winter months, as well as mid week during the season. Please inquire.

Specialty Suites: The Olivier House has 3 truly unique accommodations,
which defy any category.

The Honeymoon suite: Quintessentially New Orleans, our honeymoon suite has a spacious bedroom (Queen size 4-poster bed) and living room connected by large double parlor doors. Tall ceilings, hardwood floors, antique furnishings, and a working fireplace create a warm, elegant atmosphere. Floor to ceiling windows, and a wrap-around corner balcony overlooking both Toulouse and Dauphine streets provides a great way to view the French Quarter.

Miss Anna's Creole Cottage:This private cottage offers a bedroom (Queen size bed), living room, dining area, kitchen, and large bath. Brick floors, working fireplace, beautiful antique furnishings, and a private courtyard make the cottage a very special place.

The Garden Suite: One of the most unusual guest accommodations in the French Quarter, our Garden Suite is a tropical split level arrangement. Downstairs is the living room with flag stone floors, flower beds, banana trees, and a fountain. Also downstairs is a mini-bar, and bathroom with a bathtub. Up the wrought iron spiral stairs is the bed room, with a queen size bed, and a bath with a shower. The bedroom has a mezzanine overlooking the living room. Very light and tropical.

Reservation requests may be made by e-mail, fax, or telephone. All reservations will be confirmed by telephone. Please note: we will do all we can to accommodate specific requests, however, except for the specialty suites, we cannot always guarantee a specific room, but rather we will guarantee a room in a specific category.

Confirmation Policy:


Reservations may be confirmed by either sending the first night's deposit in the form of a check or money order, or over the telephone by the following credit cards:
American Express, Visa, Mastercard, or Diners Club.

Once a reservation is confirmed, we require 14 days notice of cancellation to avoid any cancellation fees. Without 14 days advance notice, one night will be charged as a cancellation fee.

Please note: special events require full prepayment 45 days prior to arrival (no credit cards), and 45 days notice of cancellation. Deposits and prepayments are non-refundable during special events. If you are not sure whether your trip is during a special event, please ask.
